Dear UMCH Auxiliary Members and Friends,
At this time of Thanksgiving we pause to count our blessings. As I stop and think about my time here at The Children’s Home, it’s hard to imagine that it’s only been a little over two years since I walked through those doors at 500 South Columbia Drive in Decatur. So many things have changed so rapidly in the past two years. We’ve moved from Decatur to Tucker, opened two new offices, expanded our foster care ministry, and so much more. It has been exciting and sometimes exhausting; but throughout all these changes, it has been energizing as we continue to be focused on and driven by our vision of a world where every child is raised in a loving, compassionate and nurturing home.
Through all this change, you all have stood with us and supported our ministry to children and families. As child welfare in Georgia has evolved from group homes to foster care, you have remained steadfast in your support of The Children’s Home. You have adapted and changed with us, and you have always done that with a heart toward the children we serve. For that I am truly thankful.
This Thanksgiving, I want to express my deep sense of gratitude to all of you. Your support and encouragement have helped us serve children and families across North Georgia. Thank you for walking this path with us and always being willing to adapt, change and grow. Thank you for your untold hours of service.
I look forward to writing our next chapter together as we continue to serve Georgia’s most vulnerable children and families.
