Position: Compliance Officer
Department: Foster Care Programs
Reports To: Program Director of Foster Care
Location: Decatur, GA
Position Summary:
The United Methodist Children’s Home (UMCH) is seeking a detailed-oriented Compliance Officer. The central purpose of the Compliance Officer is to maintain files and systems in compliance with current state regulations. This includes tracking and maintaining compliance with performance-based contracting measures and licensing regulations with the Office of Residential Child Care. The purpose is to ensure optimal compliance and maintain a satisfactory professional working relationship with all team members.
Responsibilities:
- Be competent about the Office of Provider Management and Office of Residential Child Care standards and regulations, and Council on Accreditation standards.
- Be cognizant of UMCH program policies and procedures related to Foster Care.
- Know and understand the process for data entry and scoring for Performance-Based Contracting measures in GA Score.
- Monitor foster child records to ensure timely service planning documentation is provided to meet state regulations including but not limited to: EPSDT medical and dental visits, educational supports, ECEM visits, required DFCS documentation (custody orders, case plans, vital records, etc.), and Individualized Service Plans.
- Monitor foster parent records to ensure compliance with DFCS Minimum Standards, ORCC, and OPM standards including but not limited to: home study requirements, updated training, current medical records, current annual evaluations, and current auto documentation.
- Perform Foster Parent annual re-evaluations to include physical inspections of homes, foster parent interviews, foster child interviews.
- Assist in coordinating training events for staff and foster families.
- Monitor compliance with GA Score as it relates to all measures for DFCS contracted programs.
- Set up tracking and implementation systems for monitoring compliance.
- Work directly with the administrative employees of each program to carry out compliance-related duties.
- Follow all agency personnel procedural, policy, and philosophical manuals.
- Develop and follow a system for reporting outcomes of compliance monitoring.
- Participate in PQI activities and/or work with other compliance officer in meeting standards.
- Perform other duties as delegated by the manager or director.

Requirements:
- Have a minimum of a bachelor degree from an accredited college/university in a human service or behavioral science field.
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with children and families.
- Own, drive, and maintain an automobile in good working condition, receiving a reimbursement for agency business mileage
- Understand that this job will require some evening and weekend hours of employment, and some after-hour
- Be computer literate, including word processing and excel spread sheets
- Be organized and detailed oriented
- Possess good communication and writing skills
- Agree to support the agency’s mission statement, organizational values and beliefs, and its quality assurance plan.
Work Environment:
This position is located out of our Decatur Office in Decatur, Georgia, and the work is conducted in an office setting as well as in the field. Fast-paced, working environment with vulnerable clients. The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule which will include evenings and weekends is required. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
