Help The Children’s Home Reach More Children & Families In The Foster Care System.
The Children’s Home relies on individual and group volunteers to help us improve the lives of the children and families we serve.
Volunteers enable us to increase our services to resident and foster families by helping in a variety of ways.
- Providing childcare for our foster families while they attend classes or training
- Tutoring young adults transitioning out of foster care
- Providing administrative support at our Metro Atlanta office
Individual or Group Opportunities:
- Providing meals during training or celebrations
- Cleaning and organizing donations in our resource rooms
- Helping with special events
Volunteers may view and sign up for these volunteer opportunities at www.umchildrenshome.volunteerhub.com
We welcome small groups of 5-10 volunteers to organize donations and help us with special events throughout the year. If you are interested in bringing a group to volunteer, please contact Alyson Ackerman at firstname.lastname@example.org for group sign-in instructions and scheduling. Volunteer shifts are usually scheduled in 2 – 3 hour increments. Age requirements may vary, depending on the nature of the task.
Are there UMCH foster families at your church or in your community that you’d like to help? Would you like to start a foster care ministry at your faith-based community or other organization?
Care Connection is a circle of volunteers that surrounds a foster family with support such as babysitting, meals or household help. If you’d like to learn more about how to create a Care Connection, click here.
Projects & Drives That You Can Do at Your Location:

Your group can assemble kits for summer fun, back to school, toiletries, snack baskets, birthdays and more! This is an on-going opportunity to support our families and children and can be flexibly scheduled at your church or organization. For details on our current needs, please click the below links.
